Frequently asked questions
Do these sheets replace speech therapy?
No. They are for play and practice. If your child's speech is unclear, limited or absent, talk to a speech and language therapist — the earlier, the better.
How do we split words into syllables?
Say the word slowly and clap each beat, e.g. car-rot. The adult label shows the word, and the answer sheet shows the number of syllables.
Why no pictures starting with “sh” or “ch”?
In the first-sound activity we leave out words starting with two-letter sounds, so children focus on listening rather than spelling rules.
